St Michael’s College, Enniskillen was founded in 1903 and moved to its current site in 1957 catering at that time for 160 pupils. Currently there are over 700 boys who attend the school, 50 staff and 35 support staff enjoying an excellent location and modern state of the facilities.
The college strive not only to provide an academic and vocational education, but also to create an ethos which encourages the development of the whole person.
In May 2016 I got the opportunity to work with the teaching staff from the school on the design and artwork of their magazine ‘Aris’.
The magazine which I designed and got approval on within a week was 128 pages including covers. It turned out really well and in particular there are a number of pages within the publication that I setup in the style of lifestyle articles such as ‘En Vacances’, ‘Ski Trip 2016’, ‘Aberdeen An Adventure’ as well as a number of others.
The magazine in general is used as a vehicle for what’s gone on in the school during the year, and includes details of the Head Boy, Memories of past pupils, interviews with pupils and staff, pieces about the history of the school, details on the Student Council and many more articles and sections, all of which I setup and designed.
